Bhastrika Pranayama Method, Benefits, and Precautions

What is bhastrika pranayama?

Bhastrika Pranayama is made up of a combination of  Sanskrit words. The first word is Bhastrika, which means Dhoni. Explain that the blower is the device that a blacksmith uses to accelerate the flame of coal. At the same time, pranayama means that life is expanding the air. According to its name, in this process of yoga, the breath of breath is released like a blower to extend the breath of air, i.e. the breath. Also, the breath is taken inwardly with the same speed and speed. This process of yoga can prove to be helpful in flushing out impurities in the body and increasing oxygen levels in the body.

This pranayama is explained in detail in the Yoga book Hathapradipika. The second yoga book Gherandasamhita, it is explained in this way.

“Bhastraive Lohakaranan viz Kramane Sambhramet.

And the air is nasabhyamubhabhyan chalayachanai.”

This verse means that just as the blacksmith blows and blows continuously, in the same way, slowly take the air from both nostrils and spread the stomach, then throw it out rapidly with a roar.

The method of Bhastrika Pranayama-

     First of all, you sit in Padmasana. If you are not able to sit in Padmasana, then sit in a relaxed state, but keep in mind, and your body, neck, and head are straight. 

     Initially breathe slowly, and release this breath with force, now breathe forcefully and exhale forcefully. In this way, inhale as fast as possible 10 times and inhale as deep as possible after exiting. Do the breathing (Kumbhak). Then let it out slowly. 

     After exhaling this deep breath, a cycle of Bhastrika Pranayama was completed. In this way, you do 10 cycles.

Benefits of Bhastrika Pranayama -

     For weight loss: This is one such pranayama that can reduce your weight. But to reduce belly fat, it is effective when it is done for 10 to 15 minutes per day. 

     For Asthma: Bhastrika Pranayama is a great yoga practice for asthma patients. Regularly practicing this pranayama will not only reduce asthma, but it will be eradicated forever. 

     Swelling of the throat: The practice of this yoga provides great relief in swelling of the throat. 

     Exhaustion of mucus: It increases gastral eliminates mucus, cures diseases of the nose and chest. 

     To increase appetite: its practice increases appetite. 

     Gives heat to the body: According to Hathapradipika, air, bile and mucus removes diseases caused by excess and provides heat to the body. 

     Best for pulse flow: This pranayama purifies the pulse flow. Bhastrika Kumbhak is the most beneficial among all the Kumbhak.

     Helpful in Kundalini Jagran: It enables Prana to break the three glands Brahmagranthi, Vishnugranthi and Rudraagranthi. These glands are in the Susumna. They awaken the Kundalini fast.

 Breathing problems: This is the best pranayama to overcome problems related to breathing.

Precautions of Bhastrika Pranayama:

     Those who have high blood pressure the problem should not do Bhastrika pranayama.     

    These pranayamas should not be done in patients with heart disease, vertigo, brain tumor, cataract, intestinal or stomach ulcers or dysentery. 

     In summer, sitli or sitakari pranayam should be done after this so that the body does not get too hot.
